Case Study Details
When gun violence is led from the top, we give them resistance.
“ResistDance” is a protest performance responding to the killings of Renée Good and Alex Pretti by ICE agents in Minneapolis. After going viral online, this powerful work continues to spark urgent conversation around gun violence, immigration injustice, protest art, and collective resistance.
Directed by Bryan Buckley of HungryMan and supported by Change The Ref, the dance, was created by The First Amendment Troop, an artist collective and advocacy group. Through movement, choreography, and performance, ResistDance confronts systems of violence and calls attention to the human cost of injustice.
