The two-part campaign, โ€˜No Blue, No Greenโ€™, by SOS Oceanoโ€”a non-profit dedicated to protecting marine lifeโ€”shines a light on a powerful truth: forests and oceans are directly interconnected and without healthy oceans, there can be no forests. The campaign began by stripping the Brazilian flag of its blue and green colour, rendering it lifeless. The altered flag was unveiled at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP30, advocating for the cause at the world's largest climate conferences. The idea was then extended through a series of striking print ads built around the principle that blue and yellow create greenโ€”the very colours of the Brazilian flag. Using the flag's iconic composition, the visuals layer ocean elements in blue beneath the yellow diamond, with elements of green flora appearing where the two overlap. The simple visual metaphor reinforces the ecological codependency between oceans and forests. Each print pairs a marine species with a forest ecosystem, emphasizing the impact that a single marine species has on an entire ecosystem. Adding to the sustainable cause, the prints were executed using natural pigments, created in collaboration with Joules & Joules. ยฅ4 No blue, no green. sos TAX! โ€œA light on the threats to marine conservation through a series of handcrafted original artworksโ€ ar Brazil's flag colors turned into a warning: life on land depends on our oceans. veja โ€œThe symbolic act of Chief Raoni and activist Paul Watson at COP30." Not only in nature, but also in color. ESTADAO ri โ€œThe flag that disappeared. And the ocean that returnedโ€ Using color theory, we brought the Brazilian flag's colors back through a series of sustainable, handcrafted silkscreen illustrations, mapping endangered marine ecosystems and their direct connection to life on land. Each artwork translated critical conservation areas into tangible calls for protection, including Albardao, the Abrolhos reefs and the seamounts of Fernando de Noronha, positioning them as priority candidates for ities near these ecosystems to pressure National Park designation, Prints and OOH were strategically placed in: decision-makers, while the original silkscreen works became an exhibition, raising public awareness for what and where to protect.
